Jubilee Orchards selling organic blueberry plants

For the first time, fans of organic blueberries harvested by Jubilee Orchards in Tallahassee have the opportunity to grow their own succulent, organic berries through the farm’s sale of mature plants.

“This is a great opportunity for blueberry lovers at Jubilee Orchards to grow our berries in their own backyards,” said orchards owner Bud Chiles. “We will provide easy-to-follow instructions on plant care and maintenance. Additionally, we will have quantities of organic fertilizer and mulch available at an additional cost for plant health and growth. »

Mature organic plants will be sold in 15 gallon pots for $30 each. All plants are certified organic and are guaranteed to be in good condition and able to bear fruit if properly cared for. Discounts will be given for volume sales by individuals or commercial growers.

Blueberries from Jubilee Orchards are generally available for purchase online, at community events, through the Red Hills Online Marketplace, and in the spring during the orchard’s “pick your own season.” Currently, all sales are made from Jubilee orchards.

“During our harvest season, thousands of individuals and families come to Jubilee Orchards to fill their buckets with our organic blueberries on ‘U-Pick’ outings,” Chiles said. “Now people will just be able to go out into their own gardens and choose what they need for a good pie, cobbler, muffins or pancakes.”

Jubilee Orchards is also opening the sale to commercial blueberry growers and nurseries in North Florida and South Georgia who have been unable to stock certified organic blueberry plants. Jubilee Orchards can fulfill orders of up to 10,000 mature plants for select customers.

Plants can be purchased and picked up from the farm, located at 12008 Miccosukee Road in Tallahassee, on Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Purchases can be paid for in cash or by credit card.
